I have been in Mexico for 6 years, was in Playa for 3 1/2. Nobody believes that I work hard for a living, that I don’t go to the beach and that I don’t just lounge around all day with a margarita in my hand! I just had friends here for a week and they were astounded at my “lower standard” of living and how many hours a day I put in. However, I do live in paradise, now I’m in the Yucatan, and wouldn’t trade it for the world, most days that is!

I moved to Mexico full time last June and everything you mention in this article I can completely relate to.

Living here full time is totally different than being here on vacation. There are pluses and minuses with that. Just like you, I visit the beach about once every 3 or 4 months even though it’s close by.
