Enough with the nasty remarks and pleading emails for me to update my stinking blog, already.
I have feelings of guilt that cannot be assuaged and have taken to wearing a hairshirt and self-flagellating twice daily, but alas, it could not be helped. It’s high season on the Riviera Maya and my business has been picking up, so I’ve been forced to deal with that boring stuff.
I’m off to Isla Mujeres for 2 nights to visit with my friends Martina and Adam, as well as Isla Gringo and the boys. After that, I fly to DC to meet with President-Elect Obama and his staff to see how I can best serve their campaign of hope.
I will be documenting my week in DC to the best of my abilities and will share with you what I discover (besides, of course, the State secrets I will have to keep to myself). The Holocaust museum, Smithsonian, and various monuments and memorials will witness my bawling face pronto.
See you soon.
Color me jealous. My last trip to D.C. was senior year in high school with the Young Republicans of Ct essay contest winners (a joke that horribly backfired). Say hello to B. and take a waltz around the first ladies dress collection. Give yourself the break you deserve. Hair shirts are so 2008, Heather.

Are you going to the inauguration? Did I spell that right? Will you post a picture of a hair shirt? Should I just blog myself?
Enjoy your trip, Chica. It sounds wonderful!

Can’t wait for you and M to get here! I think I may have to pull M aside and talk to him about your need to self flaggelate. And at your age too!

OOOH, fun. We had such a great time in DC. I strongly suggest the Hirshhorn, if you can squeeze it in and you like modern art: http://hirshhorn.si.edu/
Give Barack a big hug from me and tell him I think he’s looking especially dashing lately.
And have a wonderful time at Isla Mujeres. Wish I was there..

Hi honey. My friends in DCA said to be aware that the subway/metro is expecting 2-3 hour waits! I’m sure you know that – or your friend does.
he said some of his clients are sleeping in their office’s b/c they know they can’t get to work during that time!
Be safe and be happy and BE PATIENT!
Have fun!

Gotta put the Vietnam War Memorial on your agenda. And, treat yourself to the multi-course menu at the fine Indian restaurant, Rasika, on D Street between 6th and 7th. Make reservations now. Mmmmmm.

Have a wonderful trip. I will look forward to your pics from DC. Rob and I have been several times and even took the children there for Easter one year. Take in a service at The National Cathedral if you can. Does wonders for the soul.
