Forgot to mention in my post since you mentioned one of the things you miss most is a good library (or bookstore), my wife brings a Sony Digital Reader for that reason, although I’ve read that the Kindle is an improvement. Once you get used to reading on it, you can take a library with you. For me, since I read more non-fiction than fiction and a lot of magazines and newpapers, take a look at http://www.highbeam.com. They have over 3500 journals, newspapers and mags online. It’s not cheap, but for less than 10 bucks a week, it’s a great resource. My wife teaches law, so she has access to Lexis-Nexis, which is a similar service but ethically, I can’t really use her access, so I signed up for High Beam. If anybody is truly a news junkie and finds it hard to keep up while in Playa, check it out. You can always get a trial subscription and then cancel it if you don’t want to cough up the money.

Congrats on the blog. I just found it and it’s quite entertaining. Since misery allegedly loves company, when I arrived in Playa on Sunday, I realized that I had none of the international canales that I paid for. My property manager called them today and they are supposed to send a technician out to look at it between March 2009 and Feb 2010. OK, that’s a lie, but sometimes there’s more truth than poetry in such comments when it comes to dealing with Cablemenos as I’m fond of calling them. They are supposed to be here between 9 and 2 pm tomorrow. I’m not holding my breath, but we shall see as the man said.
