Here are some more costumes, all from Playa del Carmen.

My beautiful friend Sarah as Carmen Miranda in 2006. My talented friend Susie made the outfit and I made the hat. We are gooooood, people.

I am a total spoil sport on Halloween but I do enjoy all of your fabulous costumes. I make so many costumes for kids all year that I just don’t have any interest come Halloween to do one for myself. Poo.

Thanks, Sandye! I was a blond child, but as an adult it’s much easier for me to dye my hair darker than it is for me to highlight the mousy color it really is!
Michele: I can help you with costumes, I love it. If you change your mind let me know, I have a Marilyn Monroe costume you can wear.

I want the tequilla sunrise costume. I’ll be on Isla for Halloween and have a costume party to go to. Is there a place I can rent that costume????

Trixie: I will ask Susan if she still has it, but if not, it’s easy to do! Google “Tequila Sunrise Glasses” to find the glasses, then just wear an orange dress, and make the headpiece. It looks like she use a round piece of styrofoam, then painted/decorated it and attached it to a headband with glue (or something). Then she wore a tiny bottle of tequila on a chain around her neck. Genius! There were other girls with her in similar outfits: Margarita girl and Bloody Mary girl. Genius idea, and they took first prize in the costume contest.

Hi There.
Just searched the web for Halloween in PDC and found you and your great costumes. My BF will be with me on Halloween in PDC. I am trying to figure out what will be going on. Should we bring costumes? I had been lead to believe it really wasnt celebrated. Any help would be appreciated.

Leanna: I definitely recommend bringing your own costumes down…they are hard to find here. There are parties at local bars around town, but the biggest parties are on Call 10 between 5th and 10th streets. I’ll see you then!
