I’ve been tagged again, three times, and ordered under pain of death to complete this meme by fellow bloggers Cancun Canuck, Joyce at Trauma: The Drama, and Elizabeth of Mexico Way. I feel like part of the “in crowd” for perhaps the first time in my life…Yay!
What are your top 3 favorite foods?
Alaskan King Crab legs, mashed potatoes, homemade macaroni and cheese
What was the last book you read and would you recommend it?
I just finished reading Nobody Cares What You Had For Lunch, 100 ideas For Your Blog, and yes, I would recommend it if you’re a blogger. Especially if you could get it on sale or used.
What are your top 3 favorite places?
Chicago, Illinois. Bacalar, Quintana Roo, Mexico. London, England. Tulum is pretty great, too.
What was the last lie you told?
Hmm. I guess a couple of days ago, when I told Michael that “I was over” the mean and nasty things some jerks said about me. But I really am over it now because if Grade A Number One Best Quality people like Michael, Amy, Scott, Sara, Jerry, Stef, Jill, and Martina love me then I know I’m doing something right. The best thing about people who don’t like you is that they usually tend to be people you can’t stand yourself.
What are your favorite 3 sports (to watch or participate in)?
Baseball, Tennis, Volleyball
What was the last movie you watched and would you recommend it?
I watched Shakespeare in Love (Shakespeare Apasionado) last night for the 11 millionth time and yes, I heartily recommend it. Michael tries to change the channel really fast when he stumbles across it now, but I always catch him. Poor Michael.
List 3 things you can see outside of the nearest window.
Dirt, since the window is filthy. The vegetation in my dirt “yard.” Some telephone wires and the palapa-roofed balcony on the condo across the street.
Where was the last place you went?
Yesterday we hung out around the pool at a friend’s condo building and ate arrachera and pasta salad. It was a good day.
What are your top 3 favorite “good causes” or charities?
Riviera Maya Bomberos, Angel Notion, hurricane relief (this one I hope to never have to contribute to again, stay away from us, hurricanes!)
What was the last thing you did for someone else?
I have to say that with this cast on, everyone’s been doing for me for the past three weeks and I haven’t done much of anything. Boy, has that sucked. *wink*
Name 3 places you have never been that you want to visit.
Thailand, Oaxaca, Merida
What was the last thing you threw in the garbage/recycling?
You can’t really want to know this. We “recycle” aluminum cans by putting them in a bag to make it easier for the people who go through the garbage for them.
Name 3 things on your bedside table.
Lamp, pencil, glass of water
Describe or name the last piece of art you looked at.
I look at Celeste Acevedo’s work quite often, and dream of the day when I’ll be able to buy some.
What are the top 3 things that your job requires you to think about?
1., 2., and 3.: How much I hate people. No, seriously. My favorite aspect of my job is dealing with people who are so happy to be on vacation that they are friendly and kind, and providing customer service for them is a joy. I don’t mind answering emails, which is good, since I have to answer about 100 per day for work. I also get a little thrill when I “close a deal” on a villa/condo.
What was the last musical or theatrical event that you attended?
Chris Bolister playing at The Pinche Gringo last Friday night. That’s about all the live music I get around here.
What are the first 3 things you would do if you won the lottery?
Quit working. Buy a house, or a couple of houses. Travel a lot. I guess this would only work if I won a BIG lottery, with millions, not if I just won a turkey or something down at the Wal-Mart.
Describe or name the last serious injury or illness you had?
Fractured my foot and tore some ligaments in my ankle.
What are the top 3 things that you wish you could do?
Speak Spanish flawlessly. Sing like Neko Case. I wish I knew how to sew.
What was the last thing that someone said to you that you will remember forever?
I have great friends and family, so they say a lot of things that I’ll remember forever, but the most recent one was from Steve, who sweetly said, “The thing is, you just don’t fuck with Heather. You don’t. Fuck. With Heather.” That made me get all teary-eyed.
I won’t tag any of my “Latin American Blogger Friends” because this is a pretty small circle, so I’ll tag Char at Rambling is Therapeutic, Tyler Jordan, and Angelita Margarita.
**edit**I have no idea why stupid wordpress changes my font randomly. I’ve edited this post twice and it keeps going back to stupid Times New Roman. Pretend to read this in Arial, please.
ok, I did it, check it out!

Hey, when you are here for the blogger meeting, let’s see who wants to put together a road trip to Merida. What a hoot that would be if we all descended upon that poor city at the same time. I am SO looking forward to meeting you!
