I hope no one is minding these updates. It calms me to do them and I have a lot of family members on myspace….
Most of the computer models show it going a bit south of us now. I’m sure tomorrow’s will bring more changes. Michael and I are way ahead of the game. We have all of our shopping done. Tomorrow we’ll put up the supports around all the windows, so on Monday morning all we have to do is screw the boards in lickety split. That way we can wait until the last possible second to have to live in the heat without windows. Tomorrow night, my friends Sara and Steve and Michael and I are getting together at Sara’s house for The Last Supper…Asian marinated pork loin with coconut rice. It might be a few days before we see them again or have a hot meal.
The streets were eerie today; beautiful weather, but quiet, except for the sound of drilling and pounding and hammering of boards going up over windows. Soon I imagine the bugs will start hightailing it inside, they sense this stuff better than we do for sure.
I live in Playa del Carmen, right across from the island of Cozumel. I’m posting a map of the Yucatan for my close friend, who had no idea how to find me on the map. This one’s for you, darlin’.
